We know that our biggest and most important asset here at Ivan Fisher Funeral Home is our wonderful team. On a daily basis, it is our team who consistently provide the families and clients we look after with the highest standard of care and attention and we’re very proud to introduce you to them. Please feel free to click on any of the pictures to find out a little more about them.
Meet Our Team
Ivan was born and raised in the village of Horsham St. Faith, near Norwich. Upon completion of his exams he considered a career in agriculture like his grandparents but following a short spell on the farm, felt it was not for him.
It was then that a trainee’s position became available at a Norwich funeral home. Beginning in the company’s workshops, his first two years were spent gaining an insight into the funeral business, after which time he studied for the Funeral Director’s Diploma and successfully passed.
The remainder of his time was spent as a funeral director arranging and conducting many, many funerals. For much of his time there he was very happy. However, late in 2003 the business changed ownership and he became very unsettled.
Working for the new company made him realise that having his own business where he had the freedom to make his own decisions day to day and also remain working personally with the clients would give him much greater satisfaction and so in 2005, Ivan Fisher Funeral Home opened its doors in Hethersett. With tremendous support from the local community, the business was a success and continued to grow eventually with an office in Aylsham opening in 2009 and finally an office in Hingham in 2015. After 20 years of arranging and conducting funerals, Ivan is as committed and passionate about his job and role within the community as he ever was.
Nowadays, in his spare time, one of Ivan’s hobbies (and other passions) include driving a 1965 London Routemaster bus for various weddings and social events in the area and when he’s not at work or driving a bus, he’ll often be out walking his Irish Wolfhound, Louis.
Originally from the North West, Paul arrived in Norfolk in 2004 for what should have been two weeks but, like many visitors to Norfolk, ended up staying and making Norfolk his home.
Paul is a well known face in the town of Aylsham where he has looked after hundreds of families over the years. His grandfather, Gerry Johns, was also a funeral director and Paul is very proud to walk in his footsteps. Paul lives with his two dogs, Fred and Charlie in North Walsham and can often be seen walking through Aylsham Market Place with them during the working week.
Outside of work, Paul enjoys the theatre, travelling (in 2018 he travelled from North Walsham to China by train), music festivals and he has occasionally been known to attempt a few tunes on his tin whistle.
Judy and David FisherMum & Dad

Judy takes care of many of the important administrative jobs that need to be looked after to ensure the smooth running of the three offices whilst David is a member of our team of Pall Bearers. Married for over 40 years, Judy and David have played a key role in supporting the business from day one.
They have lived in the village of Horsham St. Faith for many years where they raised their family and have been active in many community organisations and committees for much of their married life.
When the opportunity arises, you will find Judy and David enjoying their spare time on various cruises.

He enjoys supporting and attending local groups and organisations and has even opened the spare space we have at the premises to act as a rural depot for local organizations and groups to drop in items and clothing for the homeless which are distributed to the local Salvation Army Arc and local refugee families. The local community has been amazing at collecting and donating clothing, sleeping bags and toiletries for those less fortunate based in and around Norwich.
